Stitch count can vary from a few hundred to tens of thousands of stitches, depending on the complexity of the design. Simple designs with fewer colors and details require fewer stitches, while intricate designs with multiple colors and details require more stitches.
Stitch count is essential in embroidery, because it determines the cost of the embroidery. Embroidery is priced per stitch, so the higher the stitch count, the more expensive the embroidery will be. Therefore, it is essential to consider the stitch count when deciding on the design and size of the embroidery.

How does a stitch count effect your embroidery order?

Thread Stitch Count
Our customized items may include 5,000 to 10,000 stitches in the cost of your order. Anything above that will be an additional charge per item.
If you don't know your stitch count, that is OK!! The artist assigned to your order will verify the embroidery size and stitch count during the artwork proofing process. On average, a 3 inch logo can require as many (or as little) as 8,000 stitches, depending on the design. Stitch count can increase due to a number of factors including artwork design complexity, a larger imprint size, the type of fabric being embroidered on, or desired level of detail. If your stitch count falls outside of the included stitches, a representative contact you for an approval of those additional stitches.

If you are not sure which thread color(s) to choose, just check the “Not Sure” box and our artists will select the threads that closely match your artwork. You will be able to review and approve the thread color(s) chosen during the Artwork Proofing process.

We want to make sure that you are happy with the imprint on your promotional products, so we always will send you a Pre-Production Artwork Virtual Proof for your approval. Production will not begin until you have approved your artwork e-proof.
