We are seeking a full time Graphic Designer to work with our customer service team completing artwork proofs for the promotional products industry. This position is a 40/hours per week position with possible overtime available. The current opening available is for our 9 am - 6 pm shift. We are looking for a professional, computer savvy, hard-working, detail oriented person to help process daily orders and field phone calls from potential/existing customers. Daily tasks will consist of sending artwork proofs directly to customers for pre-production approval.
Beginning pay ranges from $32,000 to $38,000/year. Recent College Graduates, or candidates with Print Production are encouraged to apply. This position is available with the intention of long term growth and advancement. The office that you will be working out of is located in Hendersonville, TN; remote work is not available at this time. Employee Benefits start after your first 90 days of employment. Benefits included a 401k Plan, with a company match, paid leave for Holidays as well as Paid Time Off. Currently healthcare is not offered.
Required Job Skills:
Experienced & Savvy in Adobe Illustrator Cloud (or earlier versions): Job applicants are expected to fluently use Adobe Illustrator (version CS6 or earlier is ok). Artwork proofing is completed in Adobe Illustrator as well as our own custom proofing system, very little is done is Photoshop.
Good Understanding of Vector Artwork: Job applicants are expected to have good understanding about vector artwork and how to manipulate vector artwork.
Typing and computer navigation tools: Job applicants are expected to understand the basic function and navigation of using a Windows computer system.
Phone/Email Etiquette: As an ecommerce business, our entire business is transacted through phone/email/internet. A comfort level using basic office extension phones is preferred. A professional, but friendly phone voice and email attitude is required.
Time Organization and Detail Oriented: The position requires a great attention to detail while handling time sensitive and personal information. Time management and task organization/prioritization will be a large portion of daily assignments, and Applicants must be able to organize both their time and their productivity to meet the daily demand this position will require. Other daily tasks will include processing mockups for potential and existing orders, follow-up phone calls, answer routine questions regarding products available through our website, and work with suppliers to communicate design and artwork needs for accurate production. Occasionally, this department is tasked with special assignments like designing catalogs, flyers, brochures, business cards and other design oriented tasks that would allow the employee to showcase more of their creative design side. These tasks take up about 10% of the position and are based primarily on need.
Ability to Handle High Volume and High Pressure Situations: this position is a high volume position, with the workload ranging from 25-40+ proofs per day, excluding revisions and general email responses to customers. During peak season, that high volume increases, as does the pressure. Our company offers free rush productions to customers who often have an extremely tight turn time, which in turn, means the employee must be able to handle the pressure of completing that ‘hot’ job, as well as handling the other scheduled tasks for the day.
Screen Printing Experience (not required): Job applicants that have any experience in the promotional products industry such as T-Shirt Screen Printing, promotional product decorating or embroidering will be heavy considered.
